All Board Members are volunteers; their interest in serving the theatrical community through SSPA is founded in years of support for and involvement in the craft of the art.

President - Denise Norton

nortonfam@mindspring.com

Denise Norton is currently serving her second (and a half!) term as President of Sierra School of Peforming Arts.  She initially participated with theatrical productions because of her children; however, her love of theatre quickly blossomed into a life of it's own.  After serving on the Board of Directors for Soroptomist International of Reno and Step 2, she has found a permanent home with SSPA.  She has had the pleasure of working in a "behind the scenes" position with Bruka Theatre, the Galena High School Theatre and many SSPA productions and camps.  She has become quite proficient in ticket sales and box office.  She is participating in her second production as a Production Manager and will be acting as stage manager for the first time this season.  She thoroughly enjoys her "role" with SSPA and applauds her fellow board members for the oustanding job they do to create and promote quality theatre in the Reno area!

Vice President - Judy Davis Rounds

jdavis662@charter.net

Judy Davis Rounds is the President and Owner of Davis Rounds Advertising and Marketing in Reno, Nevada. Judy has more than 20 years experience in the advertising and broadcast industries and handles many of the advertising and marketing duties for Sierra School of Performing Arts. Judy originally got involved with SSPA because of her daughter’s passion for musical theater but after auditioning herself for Broadway Bits 2010 and becoming part of the cast, she was hooked! Now Judy is learning theater from both the cast and administrative perspectives. Since joining the board, Judy has expanded her knowledge of theater by working as Production Manager of “Love Stinks – A Shakespearean Anti-Valentine,” “As Always Jimmy Stewart”, and co-production manager of “Broadway Bits” 2011 & 2012. Judy is the "voice" of SSPA.

Treasurer - Mari Hutchison

Mari is Certified Public Accountant and currently works with

Secretary - Matt Wilkerson

kingfan2003@gmail.com

Matt is a 5th generation Nevadan born in Carson City, and has worked at International Game Technology for the past 16 years. When he is not working as an Analyst for IGT, he enjoys playing basketball and softball in City League programs around the area and supporting his favorite NBA Team, the Sacramento Kings. At a very young age, Matt has always been surrounded by music and theater in Northern Nevada and Northern California. His first introduction to SSPA was in 2008 when his daughter was cast as one of the dancers in Broadway Bits. In 2009, at the request of his daughter and friends, Matt made his debut in the second Broadway Bits as Conrad Birdie. Matt hopes to continue to work with and support this amazing group of people for many years to come.

Artistic Director - Janet Lazarus

Janet Lazarus studied theater at the State University of New York in Binghamton and has a Masters degree in acting from UCLA. She has appeared in over 30 theatrical productions in New York, Los Angeles, and Rome. She has also produced, directed, and written for the theater. She has taught at UNR, Hawaii School for Girls in Honolulu, and at Lake Tahoe Community College. Most recently, Janet has been teaching and directing for UNR, Actors Conservatory of Northern Nevada, Arts For the Schools in North Lake Tahoe, Brookfield School, and Sierra School of Performing Arts.

Marketing Director - Jane Holman

mjholman@me.com

Jane brings more than 13 years of Integrated Corporate Communications expertise and insight to the Board as a volunteer advisor for public & media relations, community affairs, and comprehensive branding for SSPA. Prior to establishing her own business in 1996, Jane spent 11 years in sales & marketing management in traditional industries.

Grant Director - Beth Honebein

Beth Honebein brings a professional background in advertising and marketing to Sierra School of Performing Arts. She spent 10 years in advertising agencies in San Francisco and Indiana, before starting her own manufacturing business in 1994. As an entrepreneur, she finds herself involved in every aspect of business, from making products, to sales, accounting, even sweeping the warehouse floor. This ability to do whatever needs to be done has been useful in a wide variety of volunteer endeavors: teaching art to elementary school children, organizing neighbors to protect public open space, working to "get out the vote" in elections, and helping the lighting crew on SSPA productions.

Volunteer Coordinator - Juli Fair

3FairPlayNV@Att.net

Juli started acting in 2000 and was involved with several shows before moving to Reno in 2003. After her daughter was born in 2004, she returned to theatre and has been in quite a few productions including Music Man, Willy Wonka, Wonderland and every Broadway Bits show with SSPA. She has also done a couple of short films and was the lead drunk in a local TV commercial "I'm not actually a drunk, I just play one on TV". Juli has been involved with SSPA since 2006 as an actor and is looking forward to being a more integral part of the process. She hopes to contribute her knowledge, talent and passion to help SSPA grow and expand. As Volunteer Coordinator, Juli will be ensuring that all of SSPA's events and shows have the people in place to make the run smoothly and be thoroughly enjoyable for all.
